For those of you visiting our Inn in Hummelstown, PA this summer, The Hershey Gardens is a must see for the entire family. The gardens are not only incredibly beautiful, but full of lots of ideas for you take home and use in your own yard. I know I dream up new projects every time I visit! To help you plan when to visit, I have included a few guest favorites below, but you can Just take a look at their Calendar of Events for a complete list.
“For The Birds” Birdhouse Exhibit
Sunday May 1st through Sunday, September 25th
This eclectic display of birdhouses is an absolute delight. Squawk about your favorite by casting your vote for the People’s Choice award.

Mom’s Admitted Free
The Butterfly House opens for the Season Friday May 27th
The Butterfly House is included in your admission to the gardens and will be open daily from 9AM to 5PM until September 11th
A Day of Wine and Roses
Saturday, June 11th from 4PM to 8PM
More than 5,600 blooming rose bushes will set the stage for this popular festival. Enjoy some of Pennsylvania’s finest wines and taste foods from local eateries as you enjoy live music and a cooking with wine demonstration.
Admission is $40 in advance or $45 after June 5th. To make your day complete, pre-order a picnic tote with a delicious array of bread, fruit and cheese for two for $27 – Tickets are on sale now at 717-508-5870
A Whimsical Day of Fairies and Flowers
Saturday June 18th from 1 to 4PM
A magical way to spend the day! Children are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite fairy costume and enjoy searching for fairy doors that reveal the many fairies that make Hershey Gardens their home. Children will make fairy crafts, place wishes, on the Wishing Bush and meet the Hershey Gardens own Rose Fairy. $8 per child plus the regular admission rates. Tickets are limited. Pre-registration is required

A Star Spangled Picnic
Monday July 4th from 6:30-8:30
If you are staying with us at our Hershey B&B, we’ll be having a family style cookout with our family and friends and you are invited to join us. The front porch of the inn is a wonderful place to watch the Hershey fireworks as well as those from several surrounding towns.
If you are in Hershey but not at the inn you might want to try the cookout at the Gardens – A wonderful picnic, entertainment and super viewing spot for the fireworks – $27 for adults $15 for juniors. Pre-registration is required.
Saturday July 16th from 10AM -12:30 PM
Learn about butterflies and their fascinating life cycle and participate in butterfly crafts and games. All Activities included in admission.
Ugh! It’s Bugs
Saturday, July 23rd from 10AM to 1PM
Wear your digging duds and explore the secret world of bugs. As the Gardens goes under and above to reveal our creepy, crawly residents.$8 per child plus regular admission. Pre-Registration is required

As you can see, there are so many activities to choose from at the Hershey Gardens. Once you choose your dates to visit, the big decision is done. Then it will be time for you to just arrive and begin enjoying the splendor of all that is Hershey, PA!
