Caramel Apple Pie Scone Recipe

I recently came up with this recipe and it was a huge hit with the guests! It’s another Chef Dan Original made for the first time from my mind and heart… here’s to always cooking with love and friendship! Enjoy!

Ingredients & Tools

  • Sturdy pasty cutter
  • 2 sticks of butter sliced into small cubes
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • 5 cups of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1 can of pumpkin pie filling all mashed up

For Icing

  • 2 8 oz boxes of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Meltable package of caramel dip for apples (usually found in the produce aisle, approx. 8 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 block of whipped cream cheese
  • A little milk to thicken as needed

Directions

  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and then whisk in sugar
  • Add butter cubes and press around five minutes or so until it becomes soft crumbs
  • Add milk with a silicone or wooden spoon (dough will get chunky)
  • Add pie filling
  • Work dough on a heavily floured surface until it becomes a ball
  • Roll and cut off pieces to form triangular shapes
  • Place on a nonstick baking sheet in a 425 preheated oven and bake until the tops are slightly crackly and brown
  • Ice when cool and refrigerate to set
