1. Visit Indian Echo Caverns

Pick any hot, humid day and prepare to cool down at 52 degrees at Indian Echo Caverns. The entrance to the cave sits at the bottom of 71 stairs. Beyond this unassuming opening is something quite amazing, great fun and spectacularly beautiful. The 45 minute guided tour reveals the stunning natural underground formations and offers an array of fantastic geological wonders, stalactites, and even an underground lake. We especially enjoy North Passage which leads back to a narrow room known as the Wedding Chapel… and yes weddings are performed there. Be sure to ask about the hermit who used to live there. Open daily, 10am-4pm. Adults $12, Children $8.

2. Music in the Vineyards

The number of wonderful vineyards in our area is growing but the one closest to the inn and certainly one of our favorites is Cassels. It’s less than 3 miles from the inn, the wines are great and there are usually mares and their foals grazing in pastures near the vines…and Westwynd guests are trheated to a free tasting. They have a really full music and food schedule this year, too. Check out the July line–up.
