Mud Sales
Mud Sales? That’s right. In Lancaster County, PA, Mud Sales are a much-anticipated annual auction and sale event that’s held at a number of local fire stations. Residents and visitors alike discover bargains on many items. Shop hand-stitched Amish quilts, locally-made crafts, fresh baked goods, antiques, lumber, buggies, lawn equipment – and even the kitchen sink, literally.
Also, the Mud Sales are named for the condition of the thawing ground in late winter and early spring. These major fundraisers for the volunteer fire companies throughout the Amish communities draw people from all over. Experience the excitement of simultaneous auctions in Amish and English, and find the perfect item to take home with you.
