One of our favorite events in Harrisburg is the PA Farm Show. It’s the nation’s largest indoor agricultural exposition under one roof! Held annually in January, this expo has been celebrated over 100 times and continues to evolve yearly.

The Farm Show
Whether you’re a competitor or visitor, a veteran or first-timer, you will absolutely love celebrating the abundance and pride of this generous community. The massive, million-square-foot PA Farm Show Complex will be your kingdom as you meet these generous and resilient people who care for animals, raise crops, care for our land and water resources, and ensure a nutritious food supply for all of PA. You’ll find something new and exciting in every barn, around every corner, and on every stage.
Admission to the show is free, and parking in the lots is only $15. You can also park at any of the Farm Show’s offsite locations and take the free shuttle service. It is best to arrive between 9 am and noon. Most events and activities are free, with a few exceptions. The Events and Activities
In addition to the opening and awards ceremonies for the Harrisburg Farm Show competitors, there are endless events and activities to choose from. Every year is different, but potential activities include tractor-plowing demonstrations, butterfly enclosures, live music, dance competitions, parades, baking contests, rodeos, dog shows, horse vaulting, and fishing experiences.
You may find yourself de-stressing by snuggling with alpacas or trying out goat yoga. You may even watch some live demonstrations and take home a handcrafted creation from a skilled local artisan. The Farm Show Food Court
An unquestionable favorite of all guests is always the Farm Show Food Court, unlike any food court you’ve seen. With delicious agricultural products, as far as the eye can see, you won’t know where to start. Take home a treat from the farm market, or treat yourself to delicious dishes skillfully prepared by PA culinary geniuses and even some famous TV chefs!
The menu is vast, but some potential dishes include pork barbeque, mushroom salad, artisanal pizzas, maple cotton candy, apple dumplings, caramel apples, potato donuts, and pierogies. Whether you’re looking to get inspired with farm-to-table culinary creations or just want something to hold you over, you’ll find what you need at the Farm Show Food Court.
